James F. “Jim” Burnette II, 66, of Fayetteville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born to James Franklin Burnette and Gail Scott Burnette on April 5,1957 in Tarboro, North Carolina.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, James F. “Sonny” Burnette and brother-in-law, Conrad Lopes.
After his graduation from Pine Forest High School, Jim went on to further his education at Fayetteville Technical Community College where he earned his Associates Degree in Radiology. He was employed at Cape Fear Valley Hospital as a Xray Technician for 30 years.
He was an avid reader and loved going to the movies. He spent holidays creating life long memories with his loving family and would attend yearly vacations at the beach or in the mountains of North Carolina. At any given opportunity, Jim loved to travel across the United States and abroad.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Gail Scott Burnette; sisters, Karen Lopes and Sandra Burnette; brothers, Scott Burnette and Julian Burnette and wife, Tammi; nieces, Sylvia Thornton and husband, Adam Thornton, Amber Harris and husband, T.J. Harris, Barbara Melvin, and Gracie Burnette; and nephews, Julian Burnette II and Callum Burnette.
Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 2:00PM – 3:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home (500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301).
