William “Bill” Robert Perretti passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019 in Raeford, NC at the age of 67.
Bill is survived by his five children and two daughters-in-law: Robert (Amber) Perretti, Beth Perretti, Cheryl (Abby) Perretti-Blaisdell, Valarie Perretti, and William M. Perretti; and his cat, Buddie.
Bill was born on September 18, 1952 in Camden, NJ to Thelma Doughten and Amino Perretti. He was raised in Westville, NJ where he was a graduate of the Gateway Regional High School. Bill resided in Clayton, NJ before retiring in 2017 to Fayetteville, NC with 29 years of service from the Acme Markets where he was proudly employed as a meat cutter, “Not a butcher,” he was quick to correct. Bill enjoyed photography, remote control airplanes, and rocketry, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children.
Bill was an amazing man who was smart, passionate, caring, selfless, funny, and the list goes on. He raised five beautiful, independent children that he would do anything and everything for. His contagious smile, quirky sense of humor, and inappropriate jokes will be missed, along with his random, “Yo, Charlie!” outbursts, which we can only assume was a nod to his imaginary friend. His children will probably continue to find stashes of fabric softener sheets for years to come as those were his answer to keeping everything smelling fresh: in the sofa, tennis shoes, air conditioner vents, jacket sleeves and pockets, and places yet to be discovered.
“Shoot for the stars…always!!” -Bill Perretti
The family thanks Community Hospice and The Crossings at Wayside Assisted Living for their care and dedication to Bill in his final days.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
