Ann Pittman, a beloved matriarch, compassionate caregiver, and vibrant spirit, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on September 23, 1942, Ann graced the world with her kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Ann's life was a testament to love and service. As a devoted wife to the late Gerald Pittman Sr., she exemplified partnership and resilience, nurturing a family that would become her greatest joy and legacy. Together, they raised three remarkable children, and though they endured the profound loss of their daughter Rene' Pittman, Ann's strength and love continued to shine through.
Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she dedicated her professional life to nursing, a career that allowed her to touch countless lives with her healing touch and compassionate care. Ann's colleagues remember her as a dedicated nurse who brought light and laughter to even the most challenging days.
Ann's greatest joy was being "Mee Maw" to her grandchildren and great granddaughter, a role she cherished deeply. And to all her friends who know her as “Mee Maw”. Her boundless love and infectious laughter created a home filled with warmth and happiness. Whether she was sharing stories, baking cookies, or simply enjoying the company of her loved ones, Ann's presence was a source of comfort and joy.
Her laughter and zest for life were infectious, making her a beacon of happiness to all who knew her. Ann had a unique ability to find joy in the simple things, and her positive outlook was a guiding light for her family and friends.
Ann is survived by her loving son Gerald Pittman Jr., her devoted daughter Samantha Smith, her cherished granddaughters Miranda Pittman and Amanda Smith, and her adored great-granddaughter Deanna. She also leaves behind her three beloved sisters, Virginia Peters, Katy Pulaski, and Bernice Kenan, who shared in her life's journey with love and sisterhood.
Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerald Pittman Sr., her dear daughter Rene' Pittman, and her precious granddaughter Deanna Butler. Though their absence leaves a profound void, their memories remain a source of comfort and inspiration.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Ann's life will be held at 3pm, Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Pittman Family Cemetery (Pittman Grove Baptist Church). Brother Larry Chason will be officiating. As we gather to remember Ann, we will celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Ann Pittman, also known as “Mee Maw”, will be remembered as a woman of grace, laughter, and boundless love. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence.
