Anthony Jefferson Craig, 80, of Stokesdale, NC went to be with his Lord and beautiful wife, on January 30, 2023. Anthony was born in Greensboro, NC and spent his youth climbing trees at Buffalo Presbyterian Church and playing with his brothers, sisters and friends in the neighborhood around Cone Mills Textiles. He graduated from Northeast High School in Guilford County, NC. He married Gloria on March 29, 1964. He then served in the US Army first as a Combat Policeman, then in recon Infantry, completing a combat tour in Vietnam. After serving in the Army he began a 30 year career with Container Corporation of America. During his time there he also received an Associates Degree in Business. He retired in January of 1998 to raise his youngest daughter after the death of his wife Gloria.
He is survived by his daughters Tracy L. Craig and Erin E. Ryan and Erin’s husband Joshua M. Ryan, his granddaughter Faith A. Horay, grandson Jacobi M. Ryan, brother James” Pete” Craig, sister-in-law Patricia D. Craig, brother Ellis C. Craig, sister-in-law Regina Craig and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria Ann Kulick Craig, his parents Ellis C. Craig and Wilma Hollyfield Craig, his brothers Jerry R. Craig Sr, Samuel E. Craig, sisters Joyce P. Ryals and Judy M Ryals.
A Celebration of Life with be held in the Fellowship Hall of Lutheran Church of Our Father located at 3304 Groometown Rd Greensboro, NC 27407 at 4 pm on Saturday February 4, 2023.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Shriners Children’s Hospital.
