Donna Emily Foss Culbreth, 85, of Eastover, NC joined her loved ones in peaceful rest after declining health in recent years, on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Donna was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Elmer and Flossie Foss on September 18, 1938. She was the youngest of four children. She met the love of her life just after high school, and was married in May of 1957. She was incredibly smart and successful in commercial real estate during a time when the field was predominantly male. She worked hard to provide for her family. She loved her work, and was proud of what she accomplished. It was a way for her to meet and talk with people. She was never shy and never met a stranger, only friends. She could instantly spark a conversation with anyone and everyone. She liked nice things for her home, and loved to spend time decorating with her treasures that she would purchase traveling the world. While she did have a taste for the finer, more elegant things of life, she preferred good old country cooking and watching football. She had a huge heart for animals, and would love to give every stray a home and tried to do just that. Being a true Floridian, her soul was happiest when she was near the beach. We like to imagine that she is walking on the shores in heaven with her loved ones by her side.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Flossie Foss of Florida, her husband, Kenneth Culbreth of Eastover, NC, her children, Steve Culbreth of Eastover, NC, and Dollieta Faye Lewis of Fayetteville, NC, grandson, Alexander Lewis of Fayetteville, NC, and great-grandson, Everest Murray of Fayetteville, NC.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Barbara Culbreth, son-in-law Randy Lewis, granddaughters Jessica Murray and Stephanie Salazar, grandsons Robert Culbreth and Russell Culbreth, and cousins Dorothy Brown and Angela Petty, who were like sisters to her, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and those who wish to celebrate her life beginning at 3:00pm on May 26, 2024 at Salem Methodist Church, located at 2165 Middle Road Eastover, NC.
