Dorothy Ann Christon, age 84, loving mother of two, and adoring wife to husband Martin Christon, has finished her race and has passed away peacefully on November 18th in her home in Fayetteville, North Carolina after a courageous battle with Alzheimers. Dot was born on March 17th in 1940 in New York City, daughter of Fred Truckenbrodt and Helen Precht and grew up in Queens. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Arthur and her sister Louise. Dottie is survived by her husband Marty, daughter Lorrie and her husband Danny Sansone, son Chris and his wife Rynne and her four grandchildren. Dot was a loving and caring selfless Christian who always happily gave her time, talent and treasure to bless others.
Dot was the heart and soul of our home and family and she will be dearly missed this side of the veil. She was an amazing lady who served the Lord with her whole heart. She lovingly raised Lorrie and Chris in a happy and caring home to be successful and happy adults. Dot was married for almost 62 years to her soulmate, Marty. As a grandmother to Michael, Kathleen and her husband Tanner, Kimmy and Victoria, she was a "great granny" generally spoiling them rotten and blessing them abundantly.
Dot loved writing poetry, teaching Sunday School, singing, playing guitar and dancing and enjoyed chocolate, ice cream and desserts. She was a skilled accountant, secretary and EMT and earned the title of Distinguished Toastmaster.
Dot was known for her warm smile and contagious laugh. She brought joy to all who knew her. We are grateful that she is at peace resting in the shadow of the Almighty and we look forward to reuniting with her in heaven.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We ask any memorial donations or gifts be given to the Alzheimer’s Foundation (https://act.alz.org/donate) to help find a cure for this horrible disease.
