Earl Simon Jones, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Simon was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo and Laticia Jones and grandson, Ryan Jones.
Simon is survived by his wife, Annette; his sons, Earl and wife Melissa, Craig and wife Heather, Steve and wife Anna, Chris and wife Rondie; his sister, Wanda Swartzbaugh and her family; eight grandchildren and their spouses and eleven great-grandchildren.
Simon was born in Robeson County, North Carolina. He moved to Fayetteville with his family at the age of twelve. He met his wife, Annette Owen, in the eighth grade and they both graduated from Stedman High in 1959. He served active duty in the US Navy for seven years and retired from the Army Reserves with over twenty years of service. He founded Carolina Planning Service Insurance, Walk-N-Ride Car Lot, and owned Jones-Connell Allstate Insurance Agency; working there until the age of 77. He was a member of Village Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving as a Deacon.
Services will be held at the Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 12:00PM with Pastor Nick Smith officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00AM and interment will follow the service at the church columbarium.
