Elizabeth G. (Gill) Ausley

            ELIZABETH GILL AULSEY

Elizabeth Gill Ausley died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at her home. She was born October 16, 1928, in Wake County to the late Ora Lee Jones Gill and Lewis Dunn Gill. She attended Wake Forest public schools and was Valedictorian of her high school class. She graduated from Wake Forest College with honors. She moved to Dunn and taught eight grade for seven years. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Dunn. She served many terms as Deacon, taught Sunday School and GA's, was a member of the choir, served on numerous committees and was active in the Women's Missionary Union. She was a member of the Thursday afternoon Book Club and the Daughters of American Revolution. She was a charter member and very active in the Holden Beach Chapel where she served as Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee Emeritus for her inspiration, dedication and unselfish service.

            Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Jane A. Adams; daughter-in-law Carolyn H Ausley; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Samuel Hal Ausley, Jr.; three children , A. Harold Ausley, Gale L. Ausley and Beth A. Turner; a sister Ella G. Beach.

            A joint celebration of life for Lib and husband Sam, was held Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Dunn, North Carolina.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 309 West Broad Street, Dunn, North Carolina, 28334 or Holden Beach Chapel, 107 Rothschild Avenue, Holden Beach, North Carolina, 28462.
