Ernestina Pantoja, 83, passed away on December 13, 2025. She will be remembered for her strength, dedication, and the deep love she held for her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Josetine Rosado; her father, Alejandro Trinidad; her grandsons, Daniel Pantoja and Edwin Swayze Merizalde; her sisters, Sica and Juana; her brother, Francises Trinidad; and her son, Frank Pantoja.
Ernestine is survived by her daughter, Betsy Pantoja, of Fayetteville NC; and her grandchildren, Edrid Sanabria, Michael Figueroa, and David Pantoja; her 5 great-grandchildren, Lamya, Jameson, Nova, Katrid and Angel; her sister, Evelyn Trinidad; and her brothers, Juan Trinidad and Manolo Trinidad, who will continue to honor her memory.
Born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, Ernestina was raised by both of her parents. In 1960, she made the decision to move to the U.S, and she never looked back. Through hard work and perseverance, she built a life rooted in commitment and responsibility. She worked for NYHHC at the Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, NY. She was an institutional seamstress.
Her legacy lives on through the generations she helped shape and the lives she touched.
