Gary Lloyd Daye

Gary Lloyd Daye, 72, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father, Normen Daye; his mother, Barbara Ann Johnson; and his brother, Donny Daye.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Lakenya Daye-Rhone (Carlos Rhone) of Raeford; three grandchildren, Kariba Burgess (Derric Burgess) of Hawaii, JayVon Pippen (Brianna Pippen) of Georgia, and JaMarkis Leavell (Kendra Leavell) of Florida; and six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Blake, Myla, Emani, JayLani, and Carter. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Gary is also survived by his brothers, Kim Daye Sr. of North Carolina, James Stewart Sr. (Eulene Stewart) of Florida, and Alvin Daye of Ohio; and his sisters, Linda Uitenham of North Carolina, Jayne Gonzales (Fredrick Gonzales) of Ohio, and Norma Jean Fears (Michael Fears).

Gary was known for his calm and collected spirit. He loved spending his time fishing and proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20 years. His quiet strength, loyalty, and love for his family will always be remembered by those who knew him best.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 501 Martin Street, Elizabethtown, NC, with Pastor Corey Lyons officiating.
