Gloria Winta (Ellis) Carson

Gloria Winta Ellis Carson, born in Miami Florida, August 11, 1934 now in Heaven as of February 6, 2025. 

Intellect, grit, determination and an unwavering faith in God enabled her to turn a hardscrabble childhood into a successful career as an educator at the primary, high school and collegiate levels as a Professor of English.  A loyal wife and mother for whom family was primary in her existence.  She had an exceptional ear for music and loved many different types.  Reading was important to her, not just for entertainment, but to stay knowledgeable in events local, national and international. 

She leaves behind her loving husband, James; sons, Steve and Brian; grandchildren, Steven, Jake, Quinn and Sydney; daughter-in-law, Kristen; sister, Sandra; sister-in-law, Juanita; grand-niece, Jasmine; grand-nephew, Michael; cousins, Sherenette, Rochelle, Donnie, Frank, Charlene, Ronnie, Cassandra, Bernard, Cecilia, Lorene, Doretha, Thomas, Marilyn, Shirley, Bertha, Bernadette, and Adrian.  We thank God for accepting her.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:00pm at Family Fellowship Worship Center, 104 Danbury Road, Fayetteville, NC 28311.
