Gunther Miller Obituary

Gunther Miller, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Autumn Care of Fayetteville, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 23, 1941, in Czechoslovakia. Gunther was raised by his German parents in Germany until age 13 when was adopted by US Army Majors Taft and Anne Miller and came to the United States. He was preceded in death by his German mother Paula Szerbetski and American parents, Taft and Anne Miller, as well as, his German brothers, Franz and Rudy.

Gunther served honorably in the U.S. Army for 28 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Following his military career, he continued his dedication to public service by working for the United States Postal Service for 13 years before retiring. He served faithfully in his church until the limitations of his senior years.

Gunther is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; sons David Miller and Steve Miller (wife Charlene); daughter Linda Bryan (husband Kevin); five grandchildren; multiple brothers and sisters in Germany and cherished friends and relatives in the US.

A memorial service in his honor will be held at Village Baptist Church of Fayetteville, North Carolina, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 11, 2025. The family will receive friends and family before and after the service.

Gunther touched the hearts of many as a kind and humble man. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and friend. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
