Janet Ann (Furmage) McGill

Ms. Janet Furmage McGill, age 59, went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2024. She was born on January 8, 1964 to Leslie Howard Furmage and Elizabeth Jean Benson in Cumberland County, North Carolina.

Janet leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved mother, Jean Benson and spouse, Ellis Cogdell; her son, Michael Justin Furmage and wife, Kimberly Furmage; her daughter, Maria Chantel Cogdell; siblings, James Furmage, Renee Benson, Leslie Dail Furmage, and John Benson; granddaughter, Amina Fenwick; eight nieces and nephews; and two great-nieces and nephews.

Janet loved spending time outdoors with family and friends. She never met a stranger and would enter a conversation with anyone with no hesitation. What she loved most of all was spending time with her granddaughter, Amina. They would play dress up, go for walks, read books, and watch movies together. Janet made sure to say her prayers with Amina!

Janet had a big heart when it came to her “furbabies” and her boy, Shadow, was her heart and best friend. We will miss you so much Janet Furmage!

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Soul Filling Station, 1024 Southern Avenue, Fayetteville, NC 28306, on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
