Margaret Annette Lawing of Stedman, NC, Summerfield, FL, and Chattanooga, TN, left this world for her heavenly home on Monday, April 1, 2024. She was 89 years old.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lawing; a brother, Joe Smith; her parents Carl and Anna Lee Smith; her granddaughter, Robin Bruton Gibson; and her great-grandson, Dillon Matthew Raymes.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Peggy Raymes (Billy) of Stedman, NC; son, Michael Bruton (Teresa) of Leesburg, FL; son, Kelly Bruton of Chattanooga, TN; and her brother, Gene Smith of Rock Springs, GA. Margaret is also survived by her grandchildren Billy Raymes, Jr. and Matthew Raymes (Michele) of Stedman, NC, Ashley Bruton Lee (Jeremy) of Chickamauga, GA, Caleb Greene (Paige) of Ringgold, GA, Jena Bruton Tarpley (Jack) of Chattanooga, TN, and Kelly Elizabeth Bruton of Leesburg, FL; as well as her beloved great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Margaret was born and grew up in Chattanooga, TN. She spent a 40 year career in the medical field as an office administrator.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church in Stedman, North Carolina. Pastor Michael Bartlett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the church with Margaret’s Celebration of Life immediately following at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church Youth Group.
