Mary Lee (Nail) Collins

Mary Lee (Nail) Collins, 85, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord March 6, 2020. She was born July 1, 1934 in Galax, VA to Elmer T. and Bessie (Hagee) Nail.

She is survived by two sons, Kirk Morris and wife Leslie of Hope Mills, NC and Gary Morris of Fayetteville, NC; three sisters, Jerri Griffin and husband Harold of Fayetteville, NC; Barbara Moody and husband Jim of Greensboro, NC; Faye Crewe of Fayetteville, NC. Mary also leaves behind two granddaughters, Courtney Jones and husband Andrew of Hope Mills, NC and Crista Morris of Fayetteville, NC; three nephews, Danny, Steve and Russ; one niece, Cathy D. Hall and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Mary excelled in sports during her high school years and won several beauty contests and went on to be named Ms. Galax High, Ms. Carrol County and Ms. Twin Cities. After high school she traveled extensively with her husband during his military career, and was a very talented artist, mostly landscape paintings and crafts with many that are cherished gifts that belong to her family and friends.

A memorial service was scheduled for Saturday March 14, 2020 but have been cancelled due to the Corona Virus. Donations can be made in Mary’s memory to the Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 6248 Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville, NC.
