Matthew Cameron Shaw, 60, passed away on June 13, 2026.
Matthew was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter G. Brannen; his grandmother, Virginia Eloise Staton; his grandmother, Beatrice Brigman Matthews; and his aunt, Rosalie V. Staton.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Sandra B. Brannen; his father, Jerry E. Shaw and wife, Margaret Shaw; his brother, Jonathan T. Shaw and wife, Kelly Ann Shaw; nephews, Michael Cameron Shaw and Logan Samuel Shaw; and uncles, Timothy B. Matthews and wife, Susan Matthews, Dexter R. Matthews and wife, Ann M. Matthews, and Rick E. Staton and wife, Susan Staton.
Matthew attended E.E. Smith High School and Methodist College. Due to his love of music, he became a DJ, moving to Myrtle Beach to DJ in nightclubs there and then was a DJ of note at Oz Night Club in New Orleans, LA where he was a reporter for Billboard Magazine and owned a record store in the French Quarter. He began a career in computers, lived in Virginia and then Fayetteville, NC where he remained and became proficient in IT, working for several companies and then for himself.
