Earlier in his life, Mike graduated from Wake Technical Community College and Heritage Bible College. As an early Christian, he served in the sports ministry and as youth leader at Stoney Run Church in Dunn. He was later called into the ministry and served as part-time evangelist in the Dunn area and at Savannah Hill Church. His faith was steadfast and his joyful love of life was endearing. He most enjoyed spending time with his family- especially his grandchildren- which always brought a smile.
