Philip Edwards Obituary

Philip Edwin Edwards, 69, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 9, 2021. He was born in Maine to the late Howard and Vivian (Hussey) Edwards, Sr.

Philip is survived by his wife Gertrude “Trudie” of the home; his three sons, Jared and wife Melissa of Orlando, FL. Duane and wife Christina of Portland ME, and Stephen Smith of Freeport, FL; his daughter Tammy Edwards of Sturbridge, MA; his brother Howard Edwards Jr. and wife Ruth Ann of Thomaston, ME; his sister Patricia Edwards and partner Kim of Portsmouth, VA; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces.

Philip attended high school in Maine and graduated from the University of Maine in Farmington, ME. He worked for the Department of Corrections and he was an active member in many civic organizations including the Elks, Masons, Boy Scouts as Scoutmaster, and the Shriners.

Philip leaves behind a loving family and many friends that will dearly miss him.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
