Retired SFC Virgil Jack Dowdy

Virgil Jack Dowdy, 78 passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at UNC Medical Center, Chapel Hill.

Virgil was preceded in death by one son Virgil Jack Dowdy Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce C. Dowdy of the home; his two daughters, Rebecca Wooster and husband Alan of Myrtle Beach, SC and Kelley Dooley and husband Jeff of Fayetteville, NC; his three sisters, Jaqueline Ditz of Austin, TX, Cherry Sue Blevins and Priscella Frye both of Logan, WV; his brother James Blevins of Huntington, WV; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with full Military Honors.
